Also known as weight cycling; Yo-yo dieting is a repeated loss and gain of body weight due to excessive dieting. The term "yo-yo dieting" is in reference to the cyclical up-down motion of a yo-yo. Yo-yo dieters are successful in the losing weight but can’t maintain the weight loss in the longer run and gain the weight back. The dieter then again tries to lose the regained weight, and the cycle begins again.
Detox Diet
A Detox Diet is also popularly known as a cleansing diet. It helps to flush out the toxins and poisons from your body. The idea of the detox diet is to eat pure and natural foods that will help body organs like the lymph, kidneys, and liver to function properly.
Raw food diet, diuretic diet and fruit flush are detox diet.
Useful Diet Tips:
- Reduce the excess intake of food. Stop eating breads, chips, salty snacks and junk food. Drink lots and lots of water. Water is essential for the functioning of all bodily functions and has no calories. Water is the perfect drink for dieters. Drink eight to nine glasses of water daily.
- Exercise is the key to stay healthy and helps in the weight loss Along with cutting down on the calories, exercising regularly is equally important.
- Eat 4 or 5 small meals rather than in one big meal. Consuming most calories in one big meal is the worst way to diet.
- Don’t starve yourself or skip meals.
- Remember- it took years to gain weight; it takes time to lose weight.
- Chew your food completely as digestion begins in the mouth.
