French Toast

Ingredients:
  • 10 to 12 slices white bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • butter
Preparation:

Break the eggs on a wide, shallow bowl; a pie plate will be ideal. Gently beat it with a fork. Add milk and saltand stir it to mix well. Cook it over a medium flame on a skillet coated with a thin layer of margarine or butter. Soak the slices of the bread one at a time in the mixturecoating both the sides with it. Then fry them slowly until both the sides turn golden brown. Serve them hot with green salad.

Lemony chicken recipe

Ingredients:
  • Boneless and skinless Chicken (thighs or breast portion)
  • 2/3 cup Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsp Margarine
  • 1 tsp dry Rosemary
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Preparation:

Take both oil and margarin in a pan and heat it over a flame ranging from medium to high. Wait till the margarine melts down. Add the rosemary and the garlic cloves and fry for 2 minutes stirring continuously. Then add the lemon juice and boil the mixture. Put the chicken and fry it until it turns brown on all sides, add the pepper and the salt according to your taste. Put the flame to low, cover it, and cook for 20-30 minutes, after which the chicken will be completely cooked.

Apple pie

Ingredients:
  • Peeled and sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup butter without salt
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tbsps of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup water
Preparation:

The butter should be melted in a saucepan and addthe flour to it and make a paste.Add water, brown sugar and white sugar and boil it. Put the flame to simmer and boil for 5 minutes. In the meantime position the bottom crust in the pan and fill it with apples mounting them slightly. Cover it with a framework of crust. Then put the liquid butter and sugar gently on the crust. It should be done very slowly as otherwise the liquid might run off. Set the temperature of the oven to 425 degree Fahrenheit and bake for 15 minutes. After that decrease the temperature to 350 degree Fahrenheit and bake for about 35-45 minutes.

Mom’s favorite Waffle

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Preparation:

Mix flour, sugar, bakingpowder and salt together in a large bowl. Add egg, oil and milk to it and blend well. Grease the waffle iron and pour the mix on the preheated iron . Cook till the waffles turn golden brown.

Mothers Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups Almonds with skin
  • 6 oz. Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 6 oz. Sweet Butter without salt
  • 6 large Eggs wuth seperate Yolks and Whites
  • 1 tsp. Fresh Lemon Juice
Icing Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 tsp. Coffee Powder
  • 8 oz. Semi-Sweet Chocolate
Preparation:

The almonds should be placed on a cookie sheet in a preheated oven at 350 degree Fahrenheit. It will take about 15 minutes for the almonds to emit the perfect color and fragrance.While you are toasting the almonds, don’t forget to shake the pan at regular intervals. The oven should be preheated at 375 degree Fahrenheit and the buttom of the pan should be greased and dusted with bit of flour or fine bread crumbs. Remove the excess dust. The chocolates should be chopped and put it over warm water on top of a double boiler and set the temperature to medium.Cover it, till a part of it gets melted. Continue stirring until a smooth blend is formed.Keep it apart to cool down at room temperature. Mix ¼ cup of sugar with the almonds and either blend or chop. Beat the eggs and mix it with lemon juice and salt. Beat it at a medium speed initially and then mix ¼ cup of sugar and bwat at a high speed. Then blend the beaten egg white mixture and pour it in to the pan. At first set the tempearature of the oven to 375 degree Fahrenheit and then bake for 20 minutes. After that decrease the temperature to 350 degree Farenheit and bake for 50 minutes.

Prepare the icing by burning the heavy cream on a medium flame and continue it until a skin is formed over it. Add the coffee powder and m ove quickly that it should get dissolved. It will take about 2-3 minutes. Then let the icing cool down for 15 minutes and pour it over the cake startin g from the center. Top the cake with whipped cream and put a strawberry over each slice. Your mom will just love it.
