Holidays are meant for immense enjoyment. Every country has its own set of holidays and they are celebrated in various ways amidst galore of fun and frolic. The different holiday recipes add up a special charm to the day and make it far more fun filled. The various holiday dishes are included in the range of festive dishes that are specially prepared for the day. Here are few examples of some holiday recipes including, holiday appetizers, holiday beverages, holiday cookies holiday soups and holiday desserts.

Cheese Ball

Ingredients:

  • Softened cream cheese, 1 pack
  • Crumbled blue cheese, 4 ounce
  • Shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup
  • 2 tbsps of brown mustard
  • 2/3 cup currants
  • 1 tbspWorcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • ¾ cup chopped fresh parsley leaf
  • 1/8 tsp salt
Preparation:

Mix all kinds of cheese, mustard garlic powder, and Worcestire sauce in a bowl or a food processor. Make it sure that they gets blended well. Put the currants and the pecants andstir well. Keep the mixture for 30 minutes in the refrigerator, after that bring them out, and shape them into balls. Roll each ball in a parsley leaf. You can serve it immediately or else can wrap it in plastic or refrigerate for 30 minutes until it is time to serve. If you have refrigerated them then bring them to room temperature before you serve them.

Cherry Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients:
  • ¾ cup of sugar having fine granules
  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 18 cherries, halves
  • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
Preparation:

The oven should be pre heated to 375 degree Farenheit. Mix butter and sugar in the bowl, until the mixture becomes creamy and light. Put the vanilla extract and the egg in it and keep on beating until everything blends in an even mixture. Take another bowl and mix baking powder, flour, baking soda, cocoa and salt. Add it in the mixture of sugar and shape them into balls of 1 inch diameter and place them in the ungreased baking sheet keeping apart 1 inch of space in between. Put cherries over each cookies and bake for 8 minutes, until it becomes golden. Replace them from baking sheet and cool them. In the meantime, melt the chocolate chips, spoon them around cookies, and leave for further cooling.

Cherry punch

Ingredients:
  • 1 can frozen lemonade concentrate
  • 1 bottle chilled cherry soda
  • 1 bottle chilled ginger beer
  • pineapple chunks
  • 2 cups water
  • Lemon slices
Preparation:

Put all the concentrates and the pineapple in the blender and blend to a smooth mixture. Pour it in a jar and add water to it. Stir well. Refrigerate it. Serve it in a punch bowl and put cherry soda and ginger beer in it. Decorate it with slices of lemon.
