The revolution of MTV, the music industry, stylish Material girl Madonna and TV had a great impact on the 80s fashion. It was memorable and quite distinctive. Though the 80s fashion stayed in the 80s but it produced some interesting fashions highlights. The designers displayed their individuality and creativity. Men’s grew long hairs. Women wore short hair and layers of clothing.
The 80’s fashion was dominated by the shoulder pads (it made torso look rectangular), neon (it was everywhere eyes), tight acid or stonewash jeans (both men and women was a mixture of dark and light color), teased hair (perm, fluff and hairspray with chunky clips), exercise gear and leg warmers and Jellies sandals.
Hair:
The popular hair trends amongst women’s were feathered hair, side ponytails, crimped hairs, ultra teased with platinum blonde, glitter and multicolor. Men’s prominent hair styles were rainbow, mohawks, long and layered, frizzy and curly.
Face:
To accentuate the beauty, 80’s girls put on bright make up, mascara, blue eye shadow and light pink lipsticks. They also used to fake beauty moles. Men’s go for piercing, Ray- Ban aviator glasses and punk style.
Skirts & Jackets:
The major fashion clothing of the 80s comprised of off-shoulder shirts, pink sweater, matching socks, thick belts, long t-shirts and mini skirts. Tight Stonewashed Jeans, Zippered Legs, Legwarmers, Super Tight Minis and Colored Hose were the also famous.
Rock Band Shirts, Leather Jackets, Chains on Leather and Rolled Sleeve were popular amongst men’s. Men’s wore tight leather pants, Spandex, Tight Stonewashed Jeans, Parachute Pants and Corduroy Pants.
Accessories:
In the 80s girls used to accessorize their look with clock necklaces, swatches, plastic charms, hoop earrings, slouch sock, safety pins, beads, rubber bracelets and big hair bows. And men’s accessorized their look with rubberbands, hats, rhinestone glove, neon book covers and hightops.
