The Fashion Week is one of the most significant events in the fashion calendar of a country. It is a grand celebration, in which different fresh fashion and style trends come into being. The event is known as Fashion Week as it continues for a week. This is an annual event and takes place every year in different venues round the world.

The Fashion Week hosts the runaway shows, in which the eminent fashion houses and designers exhibits their up-to-the minute collections to the bulk of emptors. To be more precise, the fashion Weeks stress on setting the trends for the season.
At one time, the fashion Weeks were only restricted to the cities that were considered as the fashion heart of the world, they were Paris, New York, Milan and London. It is no more the scenario. At present, especially from the dawn of the Y2K, fashion has thrived to be a world entity and so the Fashion Week has become a globally recognized event.
The Fashion Weeks take place in a series starting from the emerging fashion capitals of New York,, then London subsequently in Milan and ending at Paris. The fashion Weeks in these cities are considered as an individual group known as “big four”. They comprise two segments based on the season. During January throgh March, the Autumn(fall)/Winter collections of the designers are in display.The months ranging from September through November showcase the Spring/Summer Collections.
Apart from these, various fashion weeks are conducted at several cities across the world for representing the different forms of fashion on specific apparels. They are the Portland (Oregon, USA) Fashion Week, which shows some eco-friendly creations of different designers, the Couture (singular designer original) Fashion Week and Bridal Fashion Week, Miami Fashion Week, mainly dedicated to Swimwear Collection and Pręt-a-Porter Fashion Week designated to ready to wear costumes. The Men and Women fashion trends are also demonstrated separately in different venues at different times.
The Indian Fashion Weeks comprise of the Lakme India Fashion Week, the Wills Fashion Weeks and various other events. Many of the Bollywood celebrities display the fashion creations of the Indian fashion designers in these shows.
